Today Ron and I are super excited! We're going to be grandparents! Hopefully anyway; as long as it works out. Yup, Schnapsy and Doodle have produced their first 2 eggs! TeeHee. I try to post some photos later.
What the heck am I doing?

Working hard!
Well, not actually - but it is my lunch hour (almost) so I can jot down a few thoughts.
1. My Mum (as Dad likes to call her) and Dad have only been married for 61 years, 2 months and several days. Hopefully they will stay in love and we can celebrate their 62nd anniversary in March 2021.
2. I love getting to know my parents all over again with the stories they share with me. Check out my Mom's blog "Veragirl".
3. I can hardly wait until this whole COVID thing is a past memory that I can bore my grandchildren with.
4. I feel like the only person my age who doesn't have grandchildren. I hope they come before I'm too old to enjoy them and just tell them to get off of my lawn.
Folks, that's it for my inspiration today! Have a great one and don't forget to write down 5 things you are grateful for each night!

My Mom is blogging again so I thought I would too!
Can't be left in the dust by my 84 year old mother! She has started her blog again and I'm so glad she did. This way I can get her day to day story in writing. I think it's important to have some Herstory! I love to hear of the way she lives off the land. My mom and dad tend chickens and ducks but not theirs; they are the neighbours. In return my parents get all the eggs they can eat and then some. My 83 year old Dad has a giant garden that produces more vegetables than 2 old folks can eat. 84 year olds don't eat too much. I think they share quite a bit with people in their life which is awesome. My Dad is in incredible shape and works outside everyday. He is also a huge activist for clean water. My Mom is the computer techy in the house. They make an awesome team and have been married for about 62 years now.

Week 5 completed!
52 new going well, although my reporting of the 52 new v. bad. Today Saf and I ate brains. Brains are under the cleverly disguised name of "sweet bread". There is nothing "sweet" or "bread" about brains but they are not too bad. Tastes like chicken! Last week our new was games night at Saf's. Not sure how that was new to me but I'll take it. The week before that we hand waved at church. Saf went first, waving one hand about half way up and then slowly got it all the way up. The song was ending and I hadn't joined in so in a moment of panic I thrust both hands all the way up in the air. Saf said I was an overachiever. Humph! So, now you are caught up on all the excitement of our 52 new!

52 new....week one complete!
52 new is upon us and week one has been successfully completed! OK, so I may have picked an easy new thing for week one but, in my defence, I was sickish. Am much better now. So, my first new thing was to read a new author. So I read a book called Two Rivers by T. Greenwood. Excellent book. So glad it read it. Wish I could remember what it was about! Well, I read it two books ago. Really doing a lot of reading in January. Wait a minute...I think it's coming back to me........it's a flash back book....oh yeah, it was about a man who was raising his daughter on his own because his wife had died the same day the baby was born. There is a train crash in his town and a pregnant 15 year old girl wants to stay with him and his daughter. There are flash backs to the time he met his dead wife and how they came to be in a relationship. An outstanding book. Loved it. Finally, a new good author. Very exciting cause she has written other books. One week down. Fifty-one to go! Stay tuned for next weeks exciting new thing!

52 NEW!!!
Next year Saf and I are embarking on 52 new things to do ... one per week! All of the things we are going to do and even the idea are completely stolen from other people but they will be new to us. We really want to get started right away but will try to contain ourselves until January. We have some pretty simple ideas such as try a new gourmet recipe but we also have a few difficult ideas such as be part of a flash mob and make our own u-tube movie (stole that from Rachel...see BrelsonCo.). Will make sure I blog about this each week so check back in January to follow my completely exciting and entirely fulfilling life!!!

No church today...Saf is on vacation!
Today is Sunday and I am not going to church. There is no one to make me go cause Saf is on vacation!! She has gone to Nelson for the week. I was supposed to go but cancelled as we have 2 major people on vacation this week at work (Karl, the director of emergency services and Jackie, the kitchen manager). How could the MISH survive without me? If I were to leave next week the homeless could become homeless and that would be tragic. Hoping the sun comes out today so I can go on my boyfriend's (YES..Boyfriend!!) boat. His boat is very sparkly so right up my alley. His kids (20 and 22) call it the "disco boat". If Barbie and Ken were to have a boat this would be it! My boyfriend (never get tired of saying that....boyfriend...boyfriend) owns a convenience store which I call the candy store. If the weather is rainy I will take a turn in the store just for fun. It was always my dream to own a corner store...I think because of the unlimited access to candy. Good times!!
